Waterline 2025 Kitchen Trends
With the new year just around the corner, we reveal our top 10 kitchen trends for 2025….
1) Store & Order: Walk-in pantries
Walk-in pantries have become a highly sought-after kitchen feature as consumers look to create stylish, practical and super-organised storage spaces that can be cleverly concealed behind closed doors. Available in a variety of configurations, this chic corner solution from our Crown Imperial brand is from the new Verona collection and features versatile storage options as well as room for a compact appliance such as a coffee machine.
2) Two in one: Vented hobs
We’re seeing strong demand for flexible vented hobs that offer the best of both worlds and expect sales to remain strong in 2025 as consumers look for sleek and streamlined solutions. They provide a subtler way to clear the air and allow designers to incorporate statement lighting into their designs too, making them a win-win for modern kitchen designs.
3) Take it to the max: Maximise ceiling height
Consumers and designers are thinking smarter about how to make the most out of space and we’re now seeing a big trend for kitchens that provide more usable storage. Whether that be floor-to-ceiling cabinets or strategically placed wall units that maximise the height of the ceiling, it’s all about getting more out of what you already have. From our Lifestyle Kitchens brand, the Locano kitchen is seen here in Park Oak woodgrain effect with tall, complementary Cashmere wall units to create a warm, two-tone effect.
4) Slim is in: Slim Shaker kitchens
Offering a modern alternative to the classic Shaker style, slim Shaker kitchens have soared in popularity in recent years and we can see why! Featuring a sleek modern frame, they come in the latest on-trend colours and finishes and offer consumers a transitional look that spans both classic and contemporary design. With handleless options also available, it’s a versatile style that will continue to capture the imagination of homeowners in 2025 and beyond.
5) Smart thinking: Connected appliances
High-tech appliances are becoming much more mainstream as consumer appetite for connected products continues to grow. It’s an appliance trend that’s here to stay as homeowners become increasingly tech savvy and opt for intelligent models that prioritise performance, sustainability and convenience.
6) Dress to impress: Design-led cabinet handles
The devil really is in the detail as consumers increasingly look to bring style and personalisation to their kitchens in 2025. It’s putting kitchen hardware in the spotlight as homeowners and designers embrace a mix-and-match approach to create tailored kitchen designs. Our new partnership with Hendel & Hendel, which is renowned for its exquisite furniture hardware, provides customers with even more choice when designing their new kitchen and more scope to personalise their space.
7) The big chill: XL refrigeration
When it comes to fridge-freezers, bigger is definitely better as homeowners opt for XL models that can store more food and keep it fresher for longer. This 2025 appliance trend goes hand-in-hand with the rise in home entertaining and multigenerational living and we expect to see consumers increasingly going for larger and taller built-in and freestanding models.
8) Through the looking glass: Glazed cabinets
Glass-fronted cabinets will remain a firm favourite as we move into 2025 with home renovation and design platform Houzz listing Obscured Display as a rapidly growing trend. Alongside clear glass, Houzz says we can expect to see more smoked, frosted and reeded glass doors, which are ideal for subtly displaying items including crockery and glassware. Houzz says that ‘while this cupboard door style demands careful curation and a tidy approach to storage, it’s lauded for bringing character and personality to a kitchen’.
9) Pick and mix: Creative colour combinations
The trend for using cabinetry to bring character to the kitchen isn’t going anywhere in 2025 as consumers increasingly mix and match colours to create eye-catching designs. Combining darker colours such as Claret with paler shades like Blush, as seen here on Crown Imperial’s Rimano kitchen, will create a timeless look in modern and traditional kitchens.
10) Behind closed doors: Concealed utility rooms
Tucked away utility spaces are another 2025 interior trend that Houzz is predicting to be big news next year. Expect to see homeowners and designers become more creative as they look to utilise space in new ways with laundry cupboards set to make their mark in utility rooms as well as in other parts of the house.
